We buy and trade

We have had the pleasure of trading and selling books to the public for well over a decade. Books can be purchased for a fraction of the price of a new book and providing they are still in good condition can be returned for store credit making the next book purchase even cheaper. We encourage customers to trade in their own books and from time to time we pay cash for unwanted books in good condition.

Participating in a book exchange is a rewarding experience. Not only does it save money but it gives others the opportunity to read books you have also enjoyed, lessens the environmental footprint and supports literacy development. As an added bonus unlike new book shops, our large turnover of stock often means we are able to supply more than one book by the same author giving you the opportunity to complete your collection or finish a series. Ocean Keys Book Exchange is also proudly an Australian owned company, so you know exactly where your money is going.

Our young readers corner

Our aim is to keep children passionate and motivated to read by providing an extensive range of books for pre-school aged children through to young adult readers and in all formats from board books to picture books, comics and novels.

Although our prices are generally half that of the recommended retail price, readers and parents are encouraged to trade in quality pre-loved books in good condition to save even more money. While an exchange fee is charged (a percentage of overall credit) this still represents huge savings for avid book lovers.

For parents of emerging readers not only will you receive expert advice on finding the right book for your child by our knowledgeable staff, we keep our prices so low parents can afford to select a variety of books to keep their child interested.

We are delighted when our young readers catch the ‘reading bug’, discover the magic of reading and develop a life-long love of books.
